I hope you’re building up your “expensive things” too.. 🥹
The best part about each one of these things we “own” is that nobody can take them away from us. They’re all the things that we have control of and that’s something that I can double down on. ❤️
As someone who's reflected a lot on personal growth and self-ownership, I find that the most valuable things we possess are often intangible qualities rather than physical possessions. When I turned 30, I started to appreciate how elements like my joy, faith, peace, strength, creativity, and mindset became my greatest assets. Unlike material goods, these are aspects of ourselves that no one can take away. Building these 'expensive things' takes consistent attention and nurturing. For instance, cultivating joy comes from focusing on positive experiences and gratitude daily. My faith has provided a foundation of hope and resilience through difficult times. Maintaining inner peace often involves mindfulness practices and setting healthy boundaries to protect my energy. Strength and creativity are qualities I sharpen by embracing challenges and expressing myself through work and hobbies. Most importantly, my growth mindset fuels continuous learning and self-improvement, reminding me that setbacks are opportunities, not failures. By prioritizing these intangible riches, I've felt more in control and empowered despite external uncertainties. If you’re looking to invest in what truly lasts, consider focusing on these internal treasures. They contribute to your overall well-being and make you resilient against life's ups and downs. And unlike physical possessions, these qualities grow stronger and more valuable over time when nurtured with intention.
