I’ve been seeing the many shares/posts about layering scents and methods to make the selected fragrances last longer. Piqued my interest and I started experimenting.
I have a crazy stash of bar soaps, body washes, scrubs, body oils, mists, perfumes, oil perfumes and lotions. My skin is sensitive, aging (I’m a seasoned lady 🤭) and is dry-to-normal, so I have to pay attention to the ingredients and usages.
My usage has been as follows with matching and complementary scents:
- a cleansing/antibacterial soap (bar or liquid)
- body scrub (sugar or salt)
- moisturizing soap (bar or liquid)
- body oil (I use Dr. Teals and BBW massage oils)
- body lotion/cream/butter
- mist and/or light dabs of perfume oil (all over for mists; pulse points for perfume oils)
- perfume/cologne
- allow a dry down for the mist and perfume and repeat to “seal” the scents.
I like this because I leave a “scent wake” that has people saying “ooh, you smell good!”
As for the pic, now I have to find more Daisy or a good dupe because I smelled damn amazing!
... Read moreScent layering is increasingly popular among fragrance enthusiasts, as it allows individuals to create a unique and long-lasting signature scent. The process involves mixing different fragrance products strategically, such as body oils, lotions, and perfumes, to build a harmonious scent profile. For optimal layering success, choose products with complementary notes, and consider the order of application. Start with a scented body wash or soap to prepare the skin, followed by a hydrating lotion infused with the same or a matching scent. Finish with a light mist or perfume, letting each layer mingle for a more dynamic fragrance.
Each layer adds depth and longevity to the overall scent experience. To make it even better, be aware of your skin type, as different skin compositions can affect how a scent lasts. If you have dry skin, body oils can help lock in moisture and amplify the scent. Additionally, popular fragrance combinations might include floral and fruity notes, or spicy and woody undertones, allowing for endless creative possibilities. Experimentation is key to finding combinations that truly resonate with you. With the right techniques, your scent layering routine can transform how you experience fragrance and how others perceive you.
I layer the exact same thing except I have the wild daisy (green) Marc Jacob.
