Centipedes are truly intriguing creatures that often surprise people with their combination of size, speed, and behavior. One remarkable aspect of giant centipedes is that they can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) long, which is quite impressive for an insect-like arthropod. This parental care is relatively uncommon among many similar arthropods and highlights their survival strategy in the wild. Their lifespan, ranging from 5 to 7 years in natural habitats — and potentially longer with proper care in captivity — proves they are resilient creatures with a well-adapted lifestyle.
