its my mommys first time living too, make time for them no matter how grown you think you are 🥹🫶🏻
Spending time with our mothers often becomes something we take for granted as we get older and busier with our own lives. But from personal experience, dedicating quality time to them can be incredibly rewarding, both emotionally and mentally. When my mom thanked me for inviting her to spend the day with me and my siblings, it struck me how meaningful these simple moments really are. Mothers not only raised us but also shaped who we are today. Recognizing that it’s their first time living through different stages—like seeing their grown children become independent—can shift how we engage with them. Taking the initiative to create shared experiences, whether it's a casual outing or just sitting together to talk, shows appreciation for the role they’ve played. I’ve learned that even if it feels like we’re all adults managing our own things, making space to connect with mom enriches our relationships and boosts her happiness. Sometimes, she just wants to feel included and valued. These visits or moments spent together remind her that she’s not alone in this new phase of her life, which can be surprisingly comforting. For anyone reading, I encourage you to pause and think about the last time you genuinely made time for your mom. It doesn’t require grand gestures—small acts of reaching out, inviting her to join your day, or simply sharing a meal can mean the world. After all, these memories become treasures for both sides as time marches on.
