how to ACTUALLY prepare for an exam✨🫶✏️📖📘🏫

I have a quantitative analytical chemistry test today, and I really needed to study!! ⚛️

This is my foolproof method for studying for any class:

1) rewrite all of your notes!! This can be done on a dry erase board, with paper and pencil, or on your tablet! I always hand write instead of type. When I go through all the info I think of tricks to remember information, read it out loud, or teach all the info to another person! 👩🏻‍🏫

2) Quiz yourself!! Either see how much information you can rewrite from memory or have someone else ask you questions from your notes! 📝 being able to actively recall information will help you better understand it for the test. For this exam, I wrote down all the possible calculations I may need to do, then wrote down formulas for all of them from memory or found a way to derive them myself💯

3) do practice exams! I do any practice questions I can. This includes exam reviews from professors and TAs, old quizzes, past homework assignments, and examples from class. I write out all the steps and any notes that I may have to help me solve the problems🌟

What is your fav way to study for exams?😗

... Read morePreparing effectively for exams is crucial for academic success. Start by organizing your study material; rewriting notes not only helps retention but also facilitates understanding. Visual learners can utilize mind maps or highlight key concepts to create visual aids. Consider incorporating spaced repetition into your study sessions. This technique involves reviewing information at spaced intervals, which can significantly enhance memory recall during exams. It’s beneficial for core concepts, particularly in subjects requiring substantial memorization. Practice exams are vital. They familiarize you with the test format and pressure, honing your time-management skills. Analyze your practice responses to identify areas needing further review, thus optimizing your study time. Additionally, forming study groups can be incredibly effective. Collaborating with peers allows for diverse perspectives and explanations, enriching the learning experience. Engaging in discussions about complex topics can uncover insights you may have missed on your own. Lastly, prioritize your mental and physical well-being. Adequate rest, proper nutrition, and regular exercise significantly influence cognitive function, ensuring you're at your best on exam day. Use tools like flashcards or apps designed for study purposes to enhance your learning process. By employing these substantive techniques, you can approach your exams with confidence and competence.
