a much needed end of semester reset 🫧🧹

moving home from college is always so stressful….

My dorm on campus was super similar to an apartment so I had tons of kitchen supplies, furniture, and lots of clothes. On move out day, I packed everything in to big bins to bring home. I didn’t want to deal with unpacking right after I moved home so my room just progressively got more messy. Also, throughout the school year, my bedroom at home became a storage room😭

I finally got in there and started cleaning! I unpacked my things and did tons of laundry. I donated a bunch of clothes and dorm decorations that I don’t need any more. I got my room organized the way I like it.

One of my projects for the summer will be getting my room repainted and decorated because I’ll be living at home next school year!

Having a clean room feels sooo nice 🤍🌿

... Read moreMoving out of a college dorm or your first apartment can feel like an overwhelming challenge, especially when it comes to cleaning and managing household supplies. One thing I've learned is that having reliable cleaning products makes a huge difference. For example, Clorox offers a range of products that simplify tough cleaning jobs—from bleach cleaners that effectively remove mold and mildew to all-purpose cleaners that tackle soap scum in bathrooms. If you’re like me, figuring out which products to trust can be confusing at first. Clorox bleach, for instance, is great for disinfecting high-touch surfaces quickly, which is essential for preventing illnesses. Their automatic toilet bowl cleaner helps reduce how often you need to scrub manually, keeping your bathroom fresh longer, and taking some stress off your cleaning routine. When managing cleaning supplies, consider your specific needs. For allergy prevention, some manual toilet bowl cleaner brands are specially formulated to minimize irritants. It pays to look into product ingredients and customer reviews to find what works best for your space. Don’t forget the importance of proper cleaning techniques too. Using cutting sheets under foods, like those by Sarantu, can keep your kitchen surfaces free from germs and mess, which is a simple but effective habit I started incorporating. Finally, once you’re done cleaning, organizing your belongings helps maintain the fresh feeling. Donating clothes or dorm decorations you no longer need declutters your room and helps others. Planning projects like repainting and redecorating can refresh your space and make living at home during school not just bearable, but enjoyable.
