July-Mid Month Update

Here’s my updated credit card debt snapshot 🧾

I’ve been aggressively paying off the highest interest card first (Chase 🔥) by throwing any extra money I can at it — even if it’s just an extra $20 here and there.

A few things that are really helping me stay on track:

✨ Cutting impulsive spending — I’m slowing down before clicking “buy” and asking, do I actually need this or is it just a quick dopamine hit?

✨ Tracking every dollar — Pin and paper 📝 (it was shocking at first 🫣) handwriting every transaction made it feel real

✨ Cash stuffing small categories — like groceries and fun money, to stay mindful and avoid swiping

✨ Meal prepping + home days — Eating out adds up FAST. Staying home more = more savings.

Small sacrifices now = big wins later 🫶

If you’re on a similar journey, drop your favorite budgeting hack below ⬇️ Let’s keep each other motivated!

... Read moreIt's incredible to see progress on something as daunting as credit card debt, especially when it feels like a heavy weight. My journey with Chase credit card debt has certainly had its ups and downs, but seeing those numbers shrink, even slightly, keeps me pushing forward. Beyond the tips I've already shared, I've realized a few more things that have made a significant difference in my approach to paying off debt. One major realization was truly understanding the interest rates. When you're staring down a balance like my Chase card (which started even higher than the $8,889.59 shown in my snapshot!), that 27.99% interest rate isn't just a number – it’s hundreds of dollars disappearing each month without even touching the principal. That's why the 'debt avalanche' method, focusing on the highest interest card first, has been my saving grace. It's tough to see the smaller debts linger, but mathematically, it saves the most money in the long run. If you have multiple cards, like my United and Apple ones, it's worth listing them all out with their balances and interest rates to get a clear 'DEBT SNAPSHOT' and strategically plan your attack. Another thing that amplifies the 'tracking every dollar' tip is using a budgeting app in conjunction with my pen and paper method. While handwriting makes it real, an app helps me categorize and visualize where my money is actually going at a glance. It's like having a digital assistant constantly reminding me of my 'budgeting based on numbers'. This dual approach helps me identify areas for 'cutting impulsive spending' even more effectively. For example, I noticed a pattern of last-minute grocery runs turning into full-blown shopping sprees, so now I plan my meals even more rigorously and stick to a list, often opting for grocery pickup to avoid those tempting aisles. And speaking of meal prepping, it's not just about saving money on eating out; it's also about saving time and reducing decision fatigue. Knowing I have healthy, prepped meals means I'm less likely to order takeout on a busy evening, which was a huge impulse spending trigger for me. These small, consistent changes build up. Finally, the mental game is huge. There are days when I feel discouraged, especially when a new unexpected expense pops up. But I keep reminding myself of the 'discipline for freedom' mindset. This isn't just about paying off debt; it's about gaining financial freedom and peace of mind. Celebrating tiny wins, like hitting a $100 milestone on a specific card, or successfully using cash stuffing for a whole week, really helps maintain momentum. If you're tackling Chase credit card debt or any other high-interest balances, remember that every single dollar you put towards it is a step closer to your goal. Look for extra income opportunities, even small ones, and direct every penny towards that debt. It's a marathon, not a sprint, but the finish line is worth every effort.

The biggest question I get is... is it worth the money 💰 ? In all honesty, probably not... It could just have the same benefits as taking a regular probiotic every day.. but to find something that I feel like I've seen almost instant benefits is worth sacrificing a $7 coffee once every two
