First up, and this seems obvious but it happens ALL the time: Don't use your phone during class time! I know, I know, your bestie just texted, or there's a new TikTok trend you have to see. But trust me, that quick peek isn't worth getting it confiscated or, worse, missing out on important info. My friend Sarah once got her phone taken for a whole week just for checking a notification during a history lecture. Not worth it! Keep it on silent and tucked away until lunch or after school. Next, let's talk about forbidden snacks. We all get hungry, especially during those long afternoon classes. But trying to sneak in that loud bag of chips or a sticky candy bar is a recipe for disaster. The crinkling sound or the smell will give you away every time! Plus, it's distracting for everyone around you. If you need a snack, try something quiet and discreet like a small granola bar during a break, or just wait until lunch. I remember one time, someone tried to eat a whole Subway sandwich during class – the smell was so obvious, the teacher didn't even need to look to know what was up! Another big one is cheating or plagiarism. This might seem like a no-brainer, but the pressure to get good grades can sometimes make people do desperate things. Whether it's copying homework, looking at someone else's test, or lifting entire paragraphs from the internet, it's just not okay. Not only can you get a zero, but there are serious consequences like suspension. It undermines your own learning and is totally unfair to your classmates who put in the effort. Always strive to do your own work, even if it means asking for help! Finally, don't be disruptive or disrespectful. This covers a lot, from constantly talking over the teacher to making rude comments or even just generally being noisy when others are trying to learn.
