Bitter melon helps cool the liver, detoxify, and aid digestion. Though it tastes bitter, once you get used to it, you’ll love it!

📝 Ingredients (Serves 4)

✅ Main Ingredients:

• 4-5 bitter melons

• 300g ground pork (or mix with ground shrimp for sweetness)

• 50g wood ear mushrooms, finely chopped

• 1 shallot, finely chopped

• 1 egg (helps bind the filling)

• A small amount of glass noodles, soaked and cut into small pieces

✅ Seasonings:

• 1 tsp fish sauce

• ½ tsp pepper

• ½ tsp salt

• 1 tsp seasoning powder

• A bit of green onion and cilantro for garnish

👩‍🍳 How to Make Stuffed Bitter Melon Soup

🔹 Step 1: Preparing the Bitter Melon

🥒 Wash the bitter melons, cut them in half, and scoop out the seeds with a small spoon.

🥒 Soak them in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes to reduce bitterness, then rinse thoroughly.

🔹 Step 2: Making the Filling

🥩 Mix ground pork, wood ear mushrooms, shallots, glass noodles, egg, and seasonings together.

🥩 Stuff the filling into the bitter melons, pressing gently to secure it.

🍲 Boil about 1.5 liters of water, then add the stuffed bitter melons.
