tried most of the popular drinks from each brand and here are my ratings of what i ordered (ratings of 8 and above are yummy and worth drinking ๐โจ๐ซถ๐ป)

If you're curious about more local chains like No Yeye No Tea in Shanghai or Guangzhou, they specialize in creative blends like lychee ice brews and floral milk teas that mix well with local tastes. Their menu can be a bit hard to navigate without recommendations, but many drinks hover around a moderate 7/10 rating for a pleasant experience. Ah Ma Handmade, a brand with roots in several cities including Shanghai, Shenzhen, and even Singapore, is known for its Sri Lanka milk tea, scoring an impressive 9/10 in my tasting. Their taro drink with mochi is thicker and more indulgent, which might not suit everyone but is definitely worth trying for a unique texture. For those who enjoy matcha, brands like ไนๅ่ have mastered the thick cheese salty matcha, and it is a perfect balance of creamy and umami flavors that I canโt recommend enough. My personal tip: try the guava milk foam drinks from Heytea, which combined sweet tropical fruitiness with creamy foam perfectly. It's the only drink I reordered on the whole trip! Finally, while some drinks like the apple milk from Cha Panda didnโt hit the mark for me, the variety available across Chinese BBT shops guarantees youโll find flavors to suit your personal taste.
