... Read moreIf you’re planning your trip to Guangzhou, a bit of insider info can make all the difference. When it comes to Xie San Bao, it’s definitely a must-try for their crab roe noodles—rich and indulgent. They usually open around lunchtime, but I recommend checking the latest opening hours before you go since they can vary. Getting to Guangzhou from Singapore is easier than ever with multiple direct flights from Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and China Southern—about a 4-hour flight. Booking early can sometimes snag you round-trips under $400, which I found through advance planning. For shopping, apM Times International Fashion City stands out for its high-quality, almost-tailored outfits at reasonable prices if you’re willing to explore. Fashion Tianhe Commercial Square offers a wider range of trendy clothes but tends to be more hit-or-miss in quality. Personally, I scored a great leather jacket and multiple pants at Miss Z in apM, which was a highlight! When the night falls, I highly recommend visiting Hope and Sesame Bar, ranked among Asia’s Top 50 Bars. It has a lively vibe with creative cocktails—favorites of mine included the tomato cocktail and banana wine. Their playlist adds to the atmosphere, making it a great night-out spot. Don’t miss out on hotpot while in Guangzhou. Dalongkan at Mayflower Plaza offers a spicy mala broth that’s perfect if you enjoy bold flavors. The city’s night stalls, including places like Yes Night Stall, serve up tasty skewers and snacks that are perfect for a casual bite. Exploring Dongshankou is a treat for those who enjoy youthful energy and cute decor designed for photo opportunities. The small, visually interesting shops are perfect for wandering and discovering unique finds. Overall, mixing food adventures with shopping and some nightlife truly defines the Guangzhou experience. Planning ahead and following local favorites like these will bring your trip to life just like it did for me!
