จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่เป็นพี่คนโต ผมพบว่าแนวคิดการบริหารการเงินที่ได้ฝึกมาตั้งแต่เด็กช่วยให้ผมจัดการกับเรื่องการเงินได้ดีขึ้นอย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ ปีที่แล้วผมเริ่มทำระบบการเงินแบบ Ecosystem Planning ที่แบ่งเงินออกเป็นกองชัดเจนตามลักษณะการใช้งาน เหมือนกับการบริหารองค์กรตัวเอง มีเงินสำหรับลงทุน (Investment) เพื่อพัฒนาตัวเองในระยะยาว กองความมั่นคง (Safety Net) สำหรับสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน และกองรางวัลชีวิต (Small Wins) เพื่อให้ความสุขในปัจจุบัน นิสัยที่พี่คนโตมักจะมีอย่าง Anticipatory Logic คือการคิดล่วงหน้าเสมอ ช่วยให้ผมวางแผนการเงินไม่เพียงแค่เดือนนี้หรือปีนี้ แต่ยังมองไปถึง 5–10 ปีข้างหน้า เช่น วางแผนเก็บเงินสำรองฉุกเฉินและซื้อประกันภัยที่เหมาะสม เพื่อป้องกันความเสี่ยงที่ไม่คาดคิดได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ทำให้ชีวิตทางการเงินมีความมั่นคงและไม่สะดุด การเลือกสิ่งที่มีคุณภาพและยั่งยืนมากกว่าการวิ่งตามของราคาถูกหรือแฟชั่น เป็นอีกหนึ่งทักษะที่ได้จากการเป็นพี่คนโต เพราะเราต้องดูแลความคุ้มค่าให้กับครอบครัว เช่น ซื้อสินทรัพย์ที่ทนทานและมีมูลค่าเพิ่มขึ้นได้แทนที่จะซื้อของที่พังเร็วหรือราคาถูกเพียงเพราะประหยัดในระยะสั้น สิ่งนี้ช่วยเพิ่มคุณภาพชีวิตและลดภาระทางการเงินในระยะยาว สุดท้าย ความรับผิดชอบและการรักษาคำสัญญาคือวินัยการเงินที่ผมคิดว่าสำคัญที่สุด เพราะมันกลายเป็นพื้นฐานการลงทุนที่มั่นคงและช่วยสร้างความน่าเชื่อถือให้กับตัวเองและครอบครัว ผมแนะนำให้คนที่เป็นพี่คนโตหรือใครก็ตามลองเอาทักษะการเงินเหล่านี้ไปปรับใช้ จะพบว่าการจัดการการเงินจะง่ายและมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นอย่างแน่นอน
