Posting on TikTok has opened so many doors for me - but with that it has also made me experience some of my lowest of lows… and all I’ve ever wanted was to bring you along for the journey.
The highs, the lows, the trenches, the wins… how I even do any of this being a SAHM to 3?!
It’s easy to share the highlight reel, but there’s so much more that goes into building a content creator business. So from here on out, I’m going to bring you along the journey! what works, what doesn’t, the brand deals, the affiliate marketing, the lessons, the setbacks, and every milestone in between. Because it’s so much more than just clicking “Post”.
Thank you for being here from the beginning. 🥹🤍
Starting out as a content creator on TikTok while managing life as a stay-at-home mom of three can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. From personal experience, the journey isn’t just about capturing moments and posting videos—it involves consistent learning and adapting. One of the most surprising aspects I encountered was balancing brand collaborations with authentic content. It’s essential to work with brands that align with your values and audience because forced promotions can disengage your followers. Affiliate marketing has also played a crucial role in my creator journey. By focusing on products I genuinely use and believe in, I can share honest recommendations that resonate with my community. That trust has helped me turn my side hustle into a more reliable income stream. However, it's not all smooth sailing. There are days filled with creative blocks, moments of self-doubt, and the pressure to maintain engagement while also looking after my family. What helped me tremendously was embracing community support, particularly from other small content creators. Sharing experiences, tips, and encouragement helped me navigate the trenches when things felt tough. Remember, the highlight reels on social media rarely show the full picture. The behind-the-scenes work—like editing, researching trends, responding to comments, and managing schedules—takes time and effort. But celebrating every small win, learning from setbacks, and staying patient have been key to my growth. For anyone embarking on a similar path, my advice is to stay genuine, keep learning, and allow yourself grace. Building a content creator business is a marathon, not a sprint, and bringing your audience along authentically can make the journey rewarding both personally and professionally.
