Loft 19 on Carnival Mardi Gras
Would you pay $2000 for a Cabana for the week in the Loft 19 area of the Carnival Mardi Gras? If you had a large group who could split the cost I can see the value but alone, l couldn't do it. That's the cost of my next cruise!

Stepping onto the Carnival Mardi Gras, I, like many others, was instantly curious about Loft 19. What exactly is this exclusive area, and is it truly worth the hype (and the cost!)? I’ve heard so much chatter, and after digging in, I’m ready to share my thoughts on this special access area. First off, let’s clarify: Loft 19 on the Carnival Mardi Gras is an adults-only private retreat, located on the ship's uppermost deck. It promises a serene escape from the lively main pool areas, offering a more luxurious and secluded experience. The biggest question I kept asking myself was, "Would you pay $2,000 for a cabana for the week here on the Carnival Mardi Gras at Loft 19?" For many, that's the cost of another entire cruise! It’s a significant investment, so understanding what you get is key. There are two main ways to gain access to Loft 19. The most coveted method is by booking an Excel suite. If you do have an Excel suite on the Carnival Mardi Gras, you will get access to this area for free. This is a fantastic perk, offering an incredible value proposition for suite guests. For everyone else, access comes at a price: renting a cabana. The cost can vary, but as mentioned, renting a cabana for the entire week can set you back approximately $2,000. Daily rates are also available, and the price can fluctuate depending on whether it's a sea day or a port day. So, what does that $2,000 cabana get you? Typically, a cabana provides a private, shaded space with comfortable lounge chairs, fresh towels, and often some dedicated service. It’s designed for ultimate relaxation and privacy. However, it's important to manage expectations regarding amenities. From what I observed, there was only water available up here, and I wasn't entirely sure if there was a jacuzzi or pool exclusively for Loft 19 guests, unlike some other premium areas on different ships. It definitely felt more about the space and service than elaborate water features. It definitely separates this area from the more bustling Serenity area, which is the adults only area for all the passengers on the ship, offering a quieter atmosphere. Is it worth it? That’s the million-dollar—or rather, two-thousand-dollar—question. If you have a large group who could split the cost, I can certainly see the value. Dividing $2,000 among several friends or family members makes it a much more palatable expense for a week of luxury and privacy. However, for a solo traveler or a couple, it's a tougher sell. When that amount could fund another full cruise, the exclusivity needs to be truly exceptional. My personal take? If you're fortunate enough to be in an Excel suite, absolutely take advantage of this free access. It’s a phenomenal bonus. If you’re considering renting a cabana, think hard about your priorities. Are you craving ultimate privacy and a quieter atmosphere above all else, and are you traveling with others to share the cost? If so, it might be a splurge worth considering for a special occasion. Otherwise, the Serenity area offers a great adults-only experience without the hefty price tag. Have you ever had access to Loft 19 and what did you think of it? I'd love to hear your experiences!
