💸💉30/30 Nurse Challenge💉💸

💸💉 30/30 Nurse Challenge: How Much Can I Really Make?

👩🏾‍⚕️✨ This month, I’m putting myself to the test: 30 shifts in 30 days as a night-shift LPN. I want to see exactly how much income I can bring in if I go full hustle mode no extra call-outs, no schedule swaps, just grinding 🩺🌙.

Here’s the plan:

🗓️ Schedule: 5 shifts per week + extra PRN when I can

💰 Differentials: Night shift + weekend + holiday (if it lands this month 🤞🏾)

🎯 Goal: Track every single check, add up my gross & net, and see if it’s worth the burnout 🫠

What I’m tracking:

📊 Total hours worked

🤑 Gross vs. take-home pay

💡 What I could do with the extra $$$ (debt payoff? luxury bag fund? 👀)

☕ Caffeine intake (because… obviously ☕😅)

Why I’m doing this:

As a nurse, it’s SO easy to live paycheck-to-paycheck because of our shift mindset. This challenge is my way of proving to myself that I can push hard for one month and make that money work for me not just float away on bills.

Would you ever try a 30/30 nurse challenge? 👇🏾

Let’s talk hustle, savings, and how we balance it with self-care! 💕

... Read moreTaking on a 30/30 Nurse Challenge is not just a test of endurance but also a real-world experiment in maximizing income through disciplined work patterns. For licensed practical nurses (LPNs) working night shifts, this challenge means embracing a rigorous schedule without call-outs or swaps, ensuring maximum hours each week and taking advantage of pay differentials like night, weekend, and holiday premiums. Understanding your pay structure is essential. Night shifts often come with higher hourly rates or shift differentials due to the demanding nature of working overnight. Adding weekend and holiday shifts can further increase gross pay. However, it’s equally important to track take-home pay after taxes and deductions to accurately assess financial gains. Keeping track of total hours worked is critical in a month-long sprint like this. Planning a schedule of five shifts per week alongside extra PRN (pro re nata, or on-call) shifts boosts hours while maintaining some flexibility. Using a calendar to mark days off and scheduled shifts—as reflected by the schedule OCR indicating dates in September and October—helps maintain focus and prevent burnout. One key aspect often overlooked in intensive challenges like this is self-care. Maintaining adequate caffeine intake might seem trivial but plays a significant role in staying alert during night shifts. Still, nurses should be aware of their limits and incorporate rest periods to avoid fatigue, which can impact both personal health and patient care. From a personal finance perspective, the extra income from pushing hard can be life-changing. Whether it’s accelerating debt payoff, saving for a luxury purchase, or building a fund for future needs, this challenge offers a motivational goal. It’s also a great conversation starter among nurses about balancing hustle with wellbeing, a critical dialogue in healthcare professions known for high stress and demanding hours. For nurses considering the 30/30 Nurse Challenge, it’s important to weigh the benefits of increased income against the physical and emotional demands of such a schedule. Connecting with fellow nurses, sharing tips on managing fatigue, and strategizing savings can elevate this challenge from a solo hustle into a supportive community effort. Overall, this challenge highlights the financial possibilities for nurses with a determined mindset and disciplined scheduling.
