I’m so lucky

Last night I was spiraling. I’ve been pushing myself so hard lately working nonstop, barely giving myself a day to breathe. Just this past week alone, I worked eight days straight without a real break. On top of that, I’ve been hitting the gym like a maniac, trying to keep up with my goals even though my body is begging me to slow down. And to make things more stressful, my period is a few days late, which just added to my anxiety. By the time I got home last night, I was so tired and wound up that I felt like I was about to break apart.

But my husband must have seen it written all over my face. He didn’t try to fix me with empty words he just let me speak my mind. I poured out every worry, every frustration, every ounce of exhaustion that had been building up inside me. While I talked, he laid out all my skincare like he knew exactly what would help me feel a little more human. He even blow dried my hair so gently, and then combed through it with his fingers until I drifted off to sleep. In that moment, all the stress melted away and I realized just how lucky I am to have someone who loves me this deeply.

Nights like last night remind me that I’m not alone in this life. No matter how stressed, tired, or overwhelmed I get, I have him someone who shows up for me in quiet, tender ways when I need it most. I may still be tired and stressed, but I’m also so incredibly loved, and that makes all the difference.
