Romans 8:14–17
This morning’s devotional walked me deep into the beauty of these words:
“𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕖𝕚𝕧𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕡𝕚𝕣𝕚𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕒𝕕𝕠𝕡𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟, 𝕓𝕪 𝕨𝕙𝕠𝕞 𝕨𝕖 𝕔𝕣𝕪, '𝔸𝕓𝕓𝕒! 𝔽𝕒𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣!"
(ℝ𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕤 𝟠:𝟙𝟝)
And as I sat with it, something stirred — a memory, a whisper…
Have you ever noticed one of the very first sounds a baby makes?
𝔸𝕙-𝕓𝕒𝕙.
It’s not formed. It’s not taught. It just… rises.
And it makes me wonder…
What if the first word we ever spoke — before language, before learning —
was actually the oldest word our souls remember?
𝔸𝕓𝕓𝕒.
This photo?
It’s my hand holding our brand new grandson’s.
He was only days old.
But he already knew how to reach.
Already knew how to cling.
Already knew how to trust.
Some say newborns still see what we can’t — angels, the Kingdom, maybe even Yeshua Himself.
No wonder they smile at the unseen.
No wonder they coo and lift their gaze like they recognize something sacred.
Maybe they do.
Maybe that sound — “𝔸𝕙-𝕓𝕒𝕙” — isn’t just noise.
Maybe it’s a memory of the One who formed them.
A holy word buried deep in the breath.
We don’t work our way into God’s love.
We awaken to it.
We aren’t just told we’re His children —
We are.
Born into it.
Adopted by it.
Marked by it.
And the Spirit still whispers the truth if we’ll listen:
You are 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑒.
You are 𝐶ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑛.
You can cry out with confidence… 𝑨𝒃𝒃𝒂.
