“𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴"
(𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 4:14)
Today, my heart is heavy — and burning at the same time.
This week we grieve so much loss — the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the brutal stabbing of a beautiful 23-year-old Ukrainian woman who died alone, and the anniversary of 9/11, when thousands of innocent lives were taken in a single day.
These three moments may seem different, but they all tell the same story: evil is present.
Evil is here,
and it is growing in leaps and bounds — even just over the last 24 years, since that September morning we swore we would never forget. 🇺🇸
I think of Esther, who stood before the king knowing it could cost her life, and still she said,
"𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩, 𝘐 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩.” (Esther 4:16)
She risked 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 to stand for her people.
We are living in days where truth is under attack, where voices are silenced through fear, intimidation, and even violence. Charlie Kirk’s assassination was meant to silence — but it will only make many of us speak louder. 🗣️
I’ve stayed quiet at times because I didn’t think I was “equipped enough” to debate like others could. Charlie Kirk was uniquely gifted — sharp with facts, steady under pressure, and able to recall truth without a single note in front of him.
But truth doesn’t need me to be as prepared as Charlie was — it just needs me to stand. And like Charlie, I will not lose myself or my integrity in the process. I can stand boldly for what is right without becoming hateful or harsh, even when the world throws its daggers.
I know the difference between right and wrong.
I know the difference between good and evil.
I know the difference between truth and lies.
And 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 on the side of truth — no matter what it costs.
My prayer is that this moment makes the church braver. That we rise up as the spiritual warriors we were meant to be. That we stop cowering for fear of losing numbers or approval — and instead start standing for life, for family, for righteousness, for freedom.
This is not a time to be passive.
This is a time to remember.
To speak.
To act.
And to pray like heaven depends on it.
— because it does.
