Career changes can be scary, but I believe in you!

6 days agoEdited to

... Read moreChanging careers can often feel overwhelming, especially when faced with uncertainty and fear of failure. One common obstacle is figuring out where to begin, such as updating your resume or knowing which jobs to apply for. When I first decided to transition to a remote work lifestyle, I confronted many of these same challenges. I found it helpful to break down the process into manageable steps. First, I focused on tailoring my resume to highlight skills relevant to remote positions. This meant researching job descriptions carefully and emphasizing my adaptability and self-motivation. Next, I explored various job platforms dedicated to work-from-home roles, which made the job search more targeted and less daunting. I also reached out to online communities where people openly shared their experiences and tips, which boosted my confidence and provided practical insights. Most importantly, I learned to address the fear of failure by shifting my mindset: viewing setbacks as learning opportunities rather than dead ends. This approach helped me persist through rejections and refine my approach. If you're experiencing hesitation, remember you're not alone. Identifying your main roadblocks—whether it's resume anxiety, uncertainty about where to search, or fear of failing—is the first step toward overcoming them. Engaging in honest conversations about these challenges can empower you to devise personalized strategies and move closer to the work-from-home lifestyle you've dreamed of.

The title slide, 'THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO accepting change,' is displayed over a cozy room with plants, a mirror, and a calendar, illuminated by warm, colorful lighting. It includes the Lemon8 logo and user handle.
This slide lists three limiting beliefs about change that are not true: change always leads to something bad, I'm not capable of handling change, and change means failure, with explanations for each.
This slide presents short-term tips to make change easier: feel your feelings, talk to people, journal, practice self-care, and maintain routines, with brief descriptions for each tip.
how to make change less scary 🫶
change can be f*cking scary! learning how to accept (and even embrace) change takes a long time. it's okay if you thought you're "over it" or that it "doesn't affect you" and it still does - healing and growth are not linear journeys. anytime we go through changes in
