Hey fellow hunters! I know many of you are still battling the Arch Tempered Nergigante, and believe me, I’ve been there. This monster is a true test of skill and patience, but after countless attempts, I finally found a rhythm that helped me take him down consistently. I wanted to share my personal approach, hoping it helps you achieve that glorious 'Main objective complete!' screen too. First off, preparation is key. For my build, I focused heavily on survivability and sustained damage. Health Boost 3 is non-negotiable, and I highly recommend Divine Blessing 3 or 5 if you can fit it in. Elderseal is incredibly useful for slowing down his spiky growth, so consider a weapon with high Elderseal, or just focus on raw damage if you're confident in dodging. I personally found success with a Greatsword, focusing on hit-and-run tactics, but any weapon you're proficient with can work. Don't forget your Temporal and Rocksteady Mantles – they are lifesavers for creating openings and tanking some unavoidable damage. Now, let's talk tactics. AT Nergigante has a few distinct phases, and understanding them is crucial. In the first area, focus on breaking his white spikes quickly. This will trip him, giving you valuable damage windows. His dive bomb is his most iconic attack; when he roars and takes to the air, prepare to superman dive! Don't get greedy, especially when the TIMER is ticking down and you're close to a cart. Patience is your best friend here. When he goes back to his nest, things get intense. This is where he often goes into his enraged state, growing black spikes that make him incredibly dangerous. This is often when I pop my Rocksteady or Temporal Mantle to get some quick, safe damage in, or to heal up. One of the biggest lessons I learned was not to overcommit. AT Nergigante punishes greed severely. Watch his tells, learn his combos, and only attack when you have a clear opening. Don't be afraid to disengage and heal if your health drops below 50%. Flash pods are useful for interrupting his aerial attacks, but be mindful of the diminishing returns. I also brought a supply of Demon Powder and Hardshell Powder for extra buffs. Remember, every little bit helps against a monster this tough. With enough practice and the right strategy, you'll be seeing that 'Main objective complete!' message before you know it!
