Refund Hunters on Vinted – A Pattern Many Sellers
think most of us have heard about it – or have already experienced it – the so-called “refund hunters” on Vinted.
These are buyers who intentionally purchase certain items (usually cheap ones) and later claim that
“it’s not ok”, “it’s not what they expected”, or “there’s something wrong with it”,
and then ask for a refund.
As a seller, you often end up in the same situation:
the item isn’t worth sending back,
the return postage would cost more than the item itself,
and if you’d lose money anyway, you often just let it go, because your time, energy, and peace of mind are worth more.
Of course, not every buyer is like this.
Most people are honest and simply want the item they purchased.
But this is a real and growing pattern.
More and more sellers are running into it,
and it causes a lot of unnecessary stress and frustration.
What’s interesting is that in many cases the signs are already there before the purchase:
the way questions are asked, the pressure, the wording…
sometimes it’s less about the item itself and more about what might come after.
Being cautious isn’t being unfriendly.
It’s simply experience and self-protection.
