We grew up on Selena. Since 1988, when Dulce Amor played, her voice lived in our home. In Spanish Harlem, Hispano music filled the streets all day long—this wasn’t culture to us, it was life.

Ven Conmigo came in 1990, and we were all Selena.

Baila Esta Cumbia followed in 1991, and the joy only grew.

By 1993, with No Debes Jugar and La Llamada—my favorites—the world truly saw her, celebrated her, cheered her on.

Then on March 31, 1995, the world stopped, and it mourned with her family.

My heart has always ached most for her father.

I understood his fight. I watched my own dad work tirelessly—for Nathalie to dance, for me to sing. Dreams don’t happen by accident. They are built by parents who believe when no one else does.

We love music differently. And that love never leaves you.

My prayers are with Selena’s family. I have always admired their unity, their strength, their relentless teamwork in turning a dream into reality.

May her father rest in peace. And may Selena’s music live forever. I’m crying my heart out i always wish to meet the entire family
