Postpartum Workout

#Lemon8Scrapbook 3 posts in one day is crazyy but Ian wanna forget the weights I did

I did 10 minutes on the elliptical & did like a mile

Then for strength training I did:

SSI:

RDLs - Warm up 12x45lbs, 10x95, 8x105, 6x115

Lateral lunges 3 x12 w 25lbs

SS2:

Deficit lunges - 12x45, 65, 75lbs

Split squats - 3 x16 w 25lbs

Finisher:

Back extensions - 2 x8 w 25lbs

This would’ve been a typical workout for me before I was pregnant so I’m real happy I was able to do ts today but mannnnnn 😭 I’m feeling it now Mr Krabs #postpartumworkout #postpartumfitness #weighttraining #weighttrainingforwomen

... Read moreGetting back into fitness after having a baby is such a journey, and it's totally okay if you're not lifting heavy right away! After my own experience, I've realized how crucial it is to listen to your body and start with foundational recovery exercises. Before jumping into challenging routines, focusing on postpartum recovery exercises is key. Things like gentle pelvic floor exercises and deep core breathing are non-negotiables. These aren't flashy, but they lay the groundwork for everything else. I remember feeling so impatient, but taking that time really made a difference in how I felt getting back to more intense movements. Walking is also incredibly underrated for boosting circulation and gently building stamina – it’s a great way to start moving again without putting too much strain on your body. Once you feel ready for a bit more, adding exercises like glute bridges postpartum can be incredibly beneficial. They're fantastic for activating your glutes and strengthening your core without excessive strain. I started with just bodyweight glute bridges, focusing on proper form, and gradually added light weights as I regained strength. It’s amazing how effective such a simple movement can be for rebuilding. And let's not forget the upper body! While my main workout often focuses on lower body, a good postpartum arm workout is essential for carrying your little one, lifting car seats, and all those daily tasks. Think about incorporating exercises like bicep curls with light dumbbells, tricep extensions, and gentle push-ups against a wall or incline. Keeping your shoulders and back strong helps with posture, especially if you're spending a lot of time holding or feeding your baby. For those looking for a more structured approach, a 30-day postpartum workout plan can be super motivating. These plans often start gently and progress gradually, which is perfect for easing back in. You might see a mix of bodyweight exercises, light resistance, and cardio. The key is finding a plan that respects your recovery timeline and allows for flexibility – because let's face it, life with a newborn is unpredictable! Once you're further along in your recovery and have clearance from your doctor, you might even consider a postpartum HIIT workout (High-Intensity Interval Training). This can be great for boosting cardiovascular fitness and burning calories efficiently. However, it's crucial to ensure your core and pelvic floor are well-recovered before attempting high-impact movements. Always modify as needed; short bursts of activity followed by rest can still be effective without overdoing it. Remember those "Glutes/Hammys" workouts from my plan? Incorporating some bodyweight versions of exercises like deficit reverse lunges or split squats into a circuit can be a good way to get that intensity without jumping or heavy lifting initially. Ultimately, every postpartum journey is unique. Be patient with yourself, celebrate every small victory, and remember that any movement is progress. You're doing great, mama!

Postpartum mamas, let’s talk crunches—aka, the exercise you don’t want to be doing right now! They put too much pressure on your healing core, can make diastasis recti worse, and don’t actually help rebuild deep core strength. Instead, focus on breathwork, deep core activation, and functional movem
