16,071 Days in Real Estate

Season 45 begins tomorrow.

On March 10, 1982 I walked into real estate for the first time.

That was:

• 2,295 weeks ago

• 16,071 days ago

Markets have risen.

Markets have fallen.

But the constant has always been people.

Today my work has evolved into helping Realtors build careers that last through coaching and programs like 100 Days to Peak Performance.

Tomorrow I begin Season 45.

Still learning.

Still coaching.

Still showing up.

I've witnessed firsthand the fluctuations of markets—times of rapid growth paired with challenging downturns. However, through all these changes, what remains constant and pivotal are the people involved. Successful real estate professionals understand that building genuine relationships with clients, colleagues, and mentors is the foundation of a lasting career. One approach I've found invaluable is committing to continuous learning and coaching. Participating in structured programs, such as the 100 Days to Peak Performance, can make a significant difference by instilling discipline, setting clear goals, and providing accountability. These elements contribute not only to skill development but also to building the resilience needed during volatile market periods. Additionally, embracing the evolution of technology and market trends has been key. Gone are the days when relying solely on personal networks sufficed; today’s Realtors must engage with digital marketing, data analytics, and virtual client interactions. I’ve continuously adapted my strategies to include these tools, which complement strong interpersonal skills. Starting Season 45 in this industry is a testament that longevity comes from passion and commitment. For anyone embarking or continuing their real estate journey, remember that success is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep showing up, stay curious, lean on coaching, and prioritize people. With these principles, a fulfilling and sustainable real estate career is entirely achievable.
