Bourbon Vanilla BeanExtract
@Lemon8 Food I love to bake, so making sure I have all of the components for my baking is a must. Everything turns out extra flavorful with this homemade bourbon vanilla extract.
Ingredients:
2 cups bourbon, ideally around 80-proof or higher
12-16 vanilla beans
Instructions:
*Run a sharp knife along the edge of each vanilla bean. If you’d like, you can scrape out the vanilla caviar to add directly to the jar or bottle.
*Pour the 2 cups of bourbon over your vanilla beans.
*Close the jar/bottle and store it in a cool, dark place.
*Make sure you’re shaking your container every other day for the first month. Then, let it sit for 3-6 months.
*At this point, you can either remove the beans or just leave the beans in. The extract will continue to get stronger as it sits. I left my beans in, the flavor is beautiful 😍.
