Microsoft prepares a major setup on Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2. It will enable the AppX Deployment Service (Appxsvc) to run automatically from the start of boot. The service will run only when the app is run from the Microsoft Store.

This adjustment was found in Patch Tuesday update for December 2025, number KB5072033, which covers both Windows 11 versions 25H2, 24H2 and Windows Server 2025, with Microsoft having confirmed that Appxsvc has been changed its startup type from Manual (Triggered) to Automatic to enhance system stability in certain specialized use situations.

The AppX Deployment Service is a service that many users are familiar with. Since there have been reports from a number of users that this service uses an unusually large amount of CPU, RAM and SSD.
