Microsoft released Emergency Update KB5086672 to solve the previously formed Windows 11 update installation problem, after having just decided to temporarily stop releasing the KB5079391 patch because a number of users were unable to successfully install it.

Previously, the KB5079391 non-security update added new features and improved the experience at several points in the system, but soon after release there were problems, especially Error code 0x80073712 with a message that some of the update files were missing or had problems, causing installation failure.

Most recently, Microsoft issued an editing patch through KB5086672, an off-the-table update (out-of-band / hotfix) focusing on solving one point, the aforementioned installation problem in KB5079391 for users of Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2.

After installing KB5086672, users can return to update through Windows Update as usual. This update includes all features and updates from KB5079391, but some features are still rolling out, so they may not appear immediately after the update.

This patch is not mandatory for updating. If you don't want to upload it now, you can pickle it first and then go to upload it when updating your menstrual security as well.
