The world-changing language translation app has turned 20 years old. 🥰

One of the apps that many have used over the years believes that one of them definitely has the name of Google Translate. Whether it's web translation, lesson reading, game translation, or survival when traveling abroad, this tool has become a fundamental aid that makes it easier for people to cross the language barrier without opening a word-by-word missionary.

.

Although at first Google Translate was known for its inaccurate translations, some sentences were strange, sometimes translated to a distorted meaning, but it was undeniable that it was "better than none," and it was a key starting point that made language translation no longer a long way from a tool that many used polished. Today, Google Translate has been traveling for 20 years and has become one of the innovations that quietly changed the way the world communicates.

.

Google revealed that Google Translate began in 2006 as one of Google Research's early machine learning experiments, the first of which also used translations of statistics on huge data sets, before developing in 2016 with Neural Networks that helped the system understand the context of sentences, not verbatim.

.

Over the past 20 years, Google Translate has not only been a text translation tool, but has gradually become the communications assistant of people around the world. It now has more than 1 billion monthly users, supports nearly 250 languages, and has more than 1 trillion words translated through Google's services per month.

.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Google also added a Pronunciation feature, or translation-based pronunciation training tool, using AI to analyze speech sounds, provide fedback, and help users practice speaking more confidently. Initially, it was enabled on Android in the United States and India before supporting English, Spanish, and Hindi.

.

From the days when many people used Google Translate in a funny way, because it was translated and not well known, to this day it became a portable interpreter, a language aid, and a bridge to people. Google Translate is not only a translation service, but one of the technologies that has made the world of languages wider and closer together.
