Beyond the main playground, the park offers so much more to extend your family's day of exploration. We took a leisurely stroll along the winding wooden boardwalk path, which is perfect for little legs and strollers. It’s such a peaceful way to immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of Florida, with towering trees draped in Spanish moss creating a serene canopy. We even spotted a small alligator from a safe distance in the murky water – a thrilling, albeit brief, wildlife encounter that had everyone buzzing! A short walk from the playground area, you can find ZOEY'S BUTTERFLY HOUSE, a truly enchanting spot. The vibrant, large butterfly sculpture outside is a beautiful photo op, and inside, it's a magical experience watching countless butterflies flutter around. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to local wildlife in a gentle, educational setting. And if you're looking for more, the directional signpost clearly points towards the Heritage Garden and Nature Center, offering even more opportunities for learning and discovery. To make the most of your visit, I'd recommend bringing plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen. There are shaded areas, but Florida sun is no joke! We found that arriving in the morning was perfect, as the park wasn't too crowded, and the weather was more pleasant. Bonnet Springs Park isn't just a playground; it's a full-day family adventure where nature, play, and learning beautifully intertwine.
