High Protein Waffle Recipe🧇 🍓
What you will need:
- 1/2 cup Kodiak Blueberry Flapjack/Waffle mix
- 1/3 cup Fairlife Fat Free Milk
- 3 Tbsp Egg Whites
Toppings:
- 3/4 cup diced strawberries (optional)
- 2 Tbsp Kodiak Super Fruit Berry Syrup (optional)
- 2 Tbsp Sugar Free Syrup
Combine all 3 ingredients together until smooth (will be a liquid-like consistency… trust the process). Add ALL of the mixture to a waffle iron. I suggest using a larger waffle iron but if you only have a smaller one just divide the batter into even servings when cooking. Cook until golden brown. Top with 3/4 of diced strawberries, 2 Tablespoons of berry syrup, and 2 Tablespoons of sugar free syrup. Goes well with a glass of simple light orange juice.

***I’m sure there are a lot more ways to make this with even more protein and less carbs however this is what I make when I’m craving a sugary breakfast 🤭

As someone who loves starting my day feeling energized, discovering the magic of high-protein blueberry waffles has been a game-changer! This recipe is a staple in my breakfast routine, especially when I'm craving something sweet yet satisfying. It's not just about the delicious taste; getting that protein-packed boost first thing truly helps me stay fuller longer and keeps those mid-morning snack attacks at bay. It’s truly what I eat for breakfast to fuel my morning! While this recipe uses fantastic ingredients like Kodiak blueberry flapjack mix and Fairlife fat-free milk, there are so many ways to tailor this to your pantry and preferences. For an extra protein punch, I sometimes add a scoop of unflavored protein powder directly into the batter. You can also experiment with different milk alternatives like almond or oat milk, keeping in mind they might slightly alter the protein content. And of course, egg whites are a secret weapon for boosting protein without adding much fat or calories – don't skip them, they make the waffles wonderfully fluffy! The beauty of a high-protein blueberry waffle is how versatile it is! While I adore fresh strawberries and sugar-free syrup from the recipe, don't limit yourself. I often swap in other berries like raspberries or mixed berries, especially when they're in season. For an even more indulgent but still healthy twist, a dollop of Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) can add another layer of protein and creaminess. A sprinkle of chopped nuts or seeds can also provide healthy fats and a satisfying crunch. Just watch those calorie counts if you're tracking! Getting that perfect waffle texture is key. The recipe mentions a liquid-like consistency, and truly, you have to trust the process! Overmixing can lead to tough waffles, so just combine until smooth. If you have a larger waffle iron, it's a breeze, but if you're using a smaller one, simply divide your batter evenly for consistency. Cook until golden brown for that ideal crispy exterior and fluffy interior. And remember, a good non-stick spray is your best friend here! The original author wisely pointed out that there are ways to make this even more protein and *less carbs*. If you're looking to cut down on carbs, consider using a lower-carb waffle mix or even making your own from scratch using almond or coconut flour, plus extra protein powder. To maximize the protein, doubling the egg whites, or adding a scoop of casein protein (which makes batter thicker, so adjust liquid accordingly) can work wonders. This way, you can easily push past the 19g protein mark and really make it a powerhouse start to your day, all while keeping it around the 353 calories mark or adjusting as needed. So, whether you're meal prepping for a busy week or just treating yourself to a delicious weekend breakfast, this high-protein waffle recipe is a fantastic option. It's proof that healthy eating doesn't have to be boring or bland. Enjoy experimenting with your own favorites – happy waffling!
