Seafood Dressing 🦐
Ingredients:
1 loaf cornbread
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 cup white onion, diced
1 cup celery, diced
1/4 cup green peppers, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp. ground sage
1 tsp. seafood seasoning
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
14 oz. cream of chicken soup
16 to 20 oz. shrimp broth
1 cup clam juice
2 large eggs, beaten
8 oz. lump crab meat
1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 lb. crawfish tail meat
8 oz. can baby clams
4 oz. oysters, minced
1 Tbsp. Gumbo File
Detailed Steps:
Start by gathering your cooked or day-old cornbread. If you don’t have any, whip up a batch and allow it to cool before crumbling.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, celery, green peppers, and minced garlic until they’re beautifully softened.
Add ground sage, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to let those flavors mingle.
Introduce the cream of chicken soup, lending the dressing a rich and velvety texture.
Pour in the shrimp broth and clam juice, adjusting the consistency with broth as needed.
Gradually incorporate the beaten eggs into the dressing, providing that perfect binding element.
Gently fold in the star-studded cast of lump crab meat, raw shrimp, crawfish tail meat, baby clams, and minced oysters.
Sprinkle in the gumbo file, bringing an extra layer of depth to the ensemble.
Transfer this flavor-packed mixture into a generously greased baking dish.
Bake at 350°F for approximately 45 to 50 minutes or until the top achieves a golden-brown perfection and the center sets.
