As someone who's always loved both reading books and watching their movie adaptations, starting this 8-week Fiction and Film Fridays series feels like the perfect way to combine two of my favorite hobbies. I've often had movies I never got around to watching because I wanted to read the book first, so this challenge is an opportunity to finally close those gaps. For instance, 'Project Hail Mary' and 'The Hate U Give' are on my list, and I'm curious how their adaptations handle the source material. I find it fascinating how some movies can capture a book's essence perfectly, while others miss the mark entirely, which makes rating the adaptation a personal highlight. This challenge isn't about deep critical analysis; instead, it's a fun project to enjoy stories in two formats and discover which ones stand the test of both mediums. Plus, sharing this journey might encourage others to revisit classic or contemporary favorites, too. If you have suggestions for more book-to-film adaptations I should consider, feel free to let me know—I'm always open to expanding the list. Ultimately, this series promises cozy Fridays filled with compelling stories, engaging characters, and a mix of nostalgia and fresh experiences.
