Please hold me to this. I’ve realized it’s my anxiety that drives me (so healthy, I know)

4/30 Edited to

... Read moreI’ve found that anxiety, while often viewed negatively, can actually be a powerful driver for productivity when channeled correctly. For me, setting concrete goals—like finishing reading two incredible books, 'Project Hail Mary' by Andy Weir and 'Where the Crawdads Sing' by Delia Owens—is what keeps me focused and motivated. Having ADHD means I often struggle with maintaining attention and completing tasks without external pressure. Anxiety combined with clear deadlines works surprisingly well to keep me on track. I create personal check-ins and share my progress with friends or online communities to hold myself accountable. This social element adds an extra layer of motivation, encouraging me to meet my goals honestly. Scheduling videos or updates ahead of time, as I’ve done, helps me maintain a consistent rhythm and avoid last-minute stress. It’s amazing how setting these micro-deadlines can make a daunting reading list feel manageable. By breaking down my reading into smaller, timed sessions, I allow my ADHD brain to thrive under structured pressure. For anyone else who finds anxiety or ADHD challenging, I suggest embracing these traits instead of fighting them. Use your natural tendencies—like heightened awareness or urgency—to create a personalized workflow that includes accountability and manageable goals. Whether it’s finishing a book or completing a creative project, these strategies can transform anxious energy into productive achievements.
