Informative, taboo, gross, interesting… read it!!

Gory Details by Erika Engelhaupt

✨ 4/5 stars ✨

This was an interesting read looking at the gross, dark, and taboo side of science. I read this book for the March book in the Morbidly Curious Book Club. While some topics were gross, repulsive, and dark, others were very interesting and all topics included scientific explanations. Detailed research was included in this book. If nothing else, this book is a good reminder to remain curious and to ask questions, even if it’s about something considered taboo or gross.

Covering everything from morbid curiosities to biological oddities, this book engages readers by intertwining scientific facts with narratives that provoke both disgust and intrigue. Engelhaupt, a seasoned writer for National Geographic, blends humor with scientific rigor, ensuring that each chapter not only informs but also entertains.
