Replying to @Crazy Korean Cooking See how I made this in previous video. Made 5 course dinner but every course was steak because dad’s favorite food is steak and he deserves to get all his wishes.
1st course - Yukwhe 육회, Korean raw beef deliciously seasoned and paired with korean pear
2nd course - Wagyu Philly cheese steak inspired by Michelin stared chef Jose Andres’ creation
3rd course - Japanese Wagyu Katsu sando, the most delicious and luxurious sandwich ever
4th course - Chateaubriand with classic French béarnaise sauce with potatoes and asparagus
5th course - Steak cake, pound cake layers with matcha flavored Italian meringue butter cream and decorated with chocolate
This was filmed on Father’s day and took me forever to edit because I made so many different dishes. It was like 5 videos in one. Also I made steak cake ahead but I got a bad cold so we had to postpone the dinner so I had to make the cake again a few days later for eating without the decoration.
Creating a multi-course steak dinner like this truly celebrates the versatility and luxury of beef in different culinary traditions. One of my favorite parts about cooking steak courses is how each dish can showcase unique flavors and textures—from the fresh, delicate seasoning of Korean Yukwhe paired with crisp Korean pear to the rich and indulgent layers of a Wagyu Philly cheesesteak inspired by Michelin-star chef Jose Andres. I also love how the Japanese Wagyu Katsu Sando transforms a simple sandwich into a gourmet experience with its perfectly fried Wagyu cutlet and soft bread. For those wanting to impress with classic French flavors, the Chateaubriand with béarnaise sauce, potatoes, and asparagus delivers both elegance and heartiness. The steak cake was an unexpected but delightful twist, with pound cake layers alternating with matcha-flavored Italian meringue buttercream and chocolate decorations, turning a savory theme into a beautiful dessert. I learned that planning and prepping in advance is key, especially because sometimes life throws unexpected delays like a cold, and you might need to make dishes again to get them just right. Overall, this dinner not only satisfies a steak lover’s cravings but also offers inspiration for presenting steak in diverse ways that celebrate global culinary styles. For anyone passionate about cooking or looking to honor a special occasion, experimenting with these dishes can be a rewarding and delicious experience.
