We love to reflect on the previous month.

Take some time to do a monthly reset this week 🩷

2024/9/26 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share something that has genuinely transformed my approach to productivity and overall well-being: the monthly reset. For the longest time, I'd just tumble from one month to the next, hoping for the best, but often feeling like I was just reacting to life rather than actively living it. It hit me one day that a fresh month is around the corner, and if I didn't take a moment to pause and assess, I'd likely repeat the same patterns. That's when I truly grasped the importance of reflecting at the start of a new month. It's not just a trendy phrase; it's a powerful tool for personal growth and making sure you're heading in the right direction. Why is it so important? Well, for me, it's about gaining incredible clarity. Think of it like pressing a refresh button on your life. I look back and ask myself a few simple but profound questions: What went well last month? What challenges did I face, and how did I overcome them (or not)? What did I learn about myself or my priorities? This isn't about dwelling on mistakes or being overly critical, but rather about honest observation and learning. It helps me be intentional with my time and energy for the upcoming weeks, rather than just drifting. My monthly reset usually involves a few key steps, and I've found that having a loose framework makes it much easier: Reviewing Goals & Progress: I check in on any goals I set for the previous month. Did I achieve them? If not, why? Sometimes life happens, and that's okay. The point is to understand, not to judge. Highlighting Wins: This is super important! It's easy to focus on what didn't go right, but celebrating even the smallest victories fuels motivation and gratitude. What moments made me happy? What did I accomplish, no matter how small? Identifying Lessons & Adjustments: Based on my reflections, what could I do differently in the future? Are there habits I want to cultivate or drop? How can I improve my approach to my work, relationships, or personal well-being? Planning for the Future: Armed with these insights, I then set my top 1-3 priorities for the next month. This isn't a massive to-do list, but rather a focus on what truly matters. I think about how I can better be intentional with my time to align with these priorities. What specific actions will I take? Decluttering (Digital & Physical): A clean space, whether it's my desk, my email inbox, or my phone's photo gallery, often leads to a clearer mind. It's a symbolic way of preparing for the new month. It doesn't have to be a huge, time-consuming process. Even 30 minutes of focused reflection can make a world of difference. It helps me feel more organized, less stressed, and generally more prepared to tackle whatever comes next. When a fresh month is around the corner, I no longer feel overwhelmed or unprepared; instead, I feel excited and ready to be intentional with my time and make the absolute most of it. If you haven't tried a monthly reflection or reset, I highly recommend it. It's a simple habit that can lead to significant positive changes in how you experience your days and weeks. Trust me, your future self will thank you for taking the time to pause and plan.
