Crochet Plant Pop-Ups
I have been trying out some more plant theme patterns! My event that I’ll be doing in May has a plant theme so I’ve been trying out some new patterns I bought so I can narrow down which items I want to bring with me! 🌵
These little plants are the Hoya Plant Pop-It’s and I must say, I’m obsessed. They’re the perfect size and so fun to sit and pop up and down. They work great as a fidget!

As someone who loves both crocheting and plants, trying out the Hoya Plant Pop-Ups has been a delightful experience. These small crochet pop-it toys not only capture the beauty of the Hoya plant but also provide a wonderful tactile sensation when popped up and down, making them great stress-relief tools. What’s fantastic about these pop-up crochet plants is their versatility. Whether you want to add a handmade touch to a plant-themed event or simply enjoy a unique fidget toy, these patterns fit perfectly. I found that the size is manageable—big enough to hold comfortably but small enough to carry around in a bag or place on a desk. When selecting patterns, it’s important to consider the materials. Using soft cotton yarn enhances the fidgeting experience without being scratchy, and a tight stitch ensures durability so the popping mechanism holds up over time. I also experimented with different color shades to replicate the Hoya’s natural heart-shaped leaves, which adds an extra personal flair. If you plan to create several pieces for an event, think about adding a few simple crochet embellishments to make each pop-up unique, like tiny flowers or leaves. This not only enriches the design but also showcases your crocheting skills to potential buyers or fellow enthusiasts. Lastly, for those new to crochet or pop-it designs, starting with a pattern like the Popping Hoya 'Heart' Plant Pop from Cable and Canvas on Etsy can provide clear guidance. Plus, being part of communities such as #crochetcommunity and #crochetfidget allows you to share progress, get tips, and find inspiration from others who enjoy making similar creations.
