I've been an aunt since I was 21 and currently 25 rn
One thing my niece and nephews would NEVER have to worry about is me being a bad aunt because I'm already good to them 💯😌😘
Becoming an aunt at a young age has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Since I was 21, I've taken pride in being a positive influence and a dependable figure for my niece and nephews. It’s amazing to watch them grow and to know that I play a special role in their lives. One of the keys to good auntship is being present—not just physically, but emotionally as well. I try to attend their important events, celebrate their milestones, and simply spend quality time with them whenever possible. Whether it’s reading bedtime stories, helping with school projects, or just having fun outdoors, these moments create lasting bonds. I’ve learned that being a good aunt also means setting a good example. Sharing advice, teaching values, and showing unconditional love helps them feel secure and confident. Even on busy days, I make it a priority to check in and listen because sometimes they just need someone to talk to. Turning 25 this year, I realize how much this journey has shaped me as a person—helping me grow in patience, empathy, and responsibility. It’s not always easy, but the joy I get from seeing their smiles and knowing I’m making a difference makes it all worthwhile. For anyone stepping into the aunt role, my advice is to embrace it fully and find your unique way to connect and support your nieces or nephews. The bond you build can be one of the most cherished relationships in life, enriching both your lives in countless ways.
