Let talk mental health ✨

So I have Border Line Personality Disorder. I don’t ever talk about it and it kinda of an unsaid rule that my family and friends don’t speak on either. They have done research so they know my triggers and signs and when that dreaded meltdown is coming. So they can be on ready to help. Most of my life I have been in denial about it like ain’t nothing wrong with me. Well a year ago I noticed that I don’t experience all of my emotions I only experience like 2. I was never truly happy just get excited and hyper. I was either depressed or pissed. So at that time I knew it was time to embrace and embark on a recovery mission. I have came along way. But still today I struggle with impulsive and reckless behavior. I have learned especially from my mom that it’s ok if I screw up or get upset. That when I am in a rage to start breathing and walk off and try again. The most important thing she told me tomorrow is a new day if I messed up start fresh with apologies and try again. #mental health 🫶🏻 #borderlinepersonalitydisorder #borderlinepersonalitydisorderawareness #embarrassing

... Read moreBorderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex mental health condition characterized by unstable moods, behavior, and relationships. Symptoms of BPD may include emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, chronic feelings of emptiness, impulsiveness, and intense anger. Understanding these symptoms is crucial for effective management and treatment. Treatment options vary and often include psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, which can help individuals understand their feelings and improve relationships. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is particularly effective, as it focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors associated with BPD. In some cases, medications may also be prescribed to help stabilize mood swings and reduce impulsivity. Support systems play a vital role in the recovery journey. Friends and family can learn about BPD to better understand their loved one's experiences and triggers. Encouragement and open communication can aid in recovery, fostering a sense of belonging and support during tough times. It's essential to note that people's experiences with BPD can vary significantly, as each individual has unique triggers and responses to treatment. Those seeking help should be patient with themselves and understand that progress may take time. By acknowledging the challenges of living with BPD, individuals can strive towards healthier coping mechanisms and a more balanced emotional life. Remember, tomorrow is a new day, and it's okay to start fresh!
