WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER SHORT NAILS 💅🏽 (my opinion)
first i just want to say i don’t want to offend nobody this is my opinion & if you don’t like short nails i totally understand, we still bad bxtchh.
one reason i would consider short nails is when you become a mom it’s a must ! bc you might poke your baby & it would hurt then (experience) it makes diaper change , taking showers , changing them easier for you.
another reason i would consider short nails is bc if you going to school/work/gym etc it’s hard to grab things/type … with short nails you can literally do anything & trust me when i say this you wouldn’t be in so much pain if you hit your nails with something.
more reasons i would consider short nails it’s much cleaner bc im a girl that loves to cook(even tho i protect my nails with gloves) & i also love to eat so when you cook/eat food can get stuck underneath your nails & it’s a little nasty for me to see stuff under my nails even if i clean it, with short nails it’s a little bit more sanitize.
lastly for my smokers (i don’t smoke but have friends who smoke 🌳) you can burn your nails i haven’t experienced it but my friends had with short nails you wouldn’t have that problem & yea they sell this holder but girl your going be caring a holder your whole life ?
so are you considering going short ? or it’s just me ?
Okay, so we've talked about all the amazing practical reasons why short nails are a total game-changer – from being a super mom to keeping things hygienic in the kitchen. But let’s be real, sometimes we still crave that 'wow' factor, right? Good news: short nails don't mean sacrificing style! In fact, I've discovered a whole world of chic, cute short nail designs that are perfect for any occasion. One of my absolute favorite things about having short, manicured nails is how versatile they are. You can rock any color, from a sophisticated nude to a bold, vibrant shade, and it just looks effortlessly elegant. Think about it: a rich burgundy or a deep forest green on short, well-kept nails? Instant sophistication! And for those who love to experiment, those smaller 7.5ml / 0.26 fl.oz nail polish bottles are fantastic for trying out new hues without committing to a big bottle – perfect for refreshing your look often! If you're looking for something a bit more intricate, simple minimalist designs are your best friend. A tiny dot near the cuticle, a delicate stripe down the center, or even a subtle negative space design can elevate your short nails from simple to stunning. I’ve found that these designs are not only super easy to do at home (no advanced art skills required!), but they also make your hands look incredibly polished and put-together. Forget the myth that short nails are boring – they're a canvas for understated elegance! And let's not forget about keeping those short nails healthy and clean, which is just as important as the design itself. A good manicure isn't just about the polish; it's about the care. I always make sure to gently push back my cuticles (never cut them!) and moisturize them daily with a good cuticle oil. Regular filing to maintain their shape, even if it’s just a quick touch-up, keeps them looking neat and prevents snags. A good base coat protects your natural nail, and a glossy top coat seals everything in, making your manicure last longer and shine brighter. This routine ensures my 'why should we keep your nails short and clean' reasons are always met, aesthetically and practically! Personally, I adore a classic French tip with a modern twist – maybe a slightly thinner white line or even a colored tip for a fun pop. Or, for a quick and easy win, a shimmery glitter top coat over a solid color adds just the right amount of sparkle without being over the top. The beauty of short nails is that they're low maintenance but high impact when it comes to style. So, whether you're a busy mom, a fitness enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates practicality and hygiene, embracing short nails doesn't mean you have to give up on looking fabulous.
