... Read moreBased on my experience on a weight gain journey, one of the biggest challenges I faced was realizing that metabolism alone wasn't the culprit when the scale stalled. Similar to what’s highlighted, skipping meals had a huge impact on slowing down progress. I learned that eating consistently throughout the day, aiming for 3-5 meals plus snacks with enough protein, was crucial to fuel muscle growth and overall weight gain. Protein intake, in particular, made a noticeable difference. Incorporating sources like lean meats, dairy, and plant-based proteins ensured my muscles had what they needed to repair and grow, especially during strength training focused on glute growth. Counting calories was another eye-opener: eating "healthy" foods is not enough if you aren’t in a calorie surplus. Tracking my calorie intake helped me understand how much more I needed to consume to see results. An important factor that many underestimate is the quality of calories. I had to cut back on drinking calories from sodas and juices because, while they fill you up, they don’t contribute to muscle building and can hinder progress. Instead, focusing on whole foods and calorie-dense options helped me stay on track. Consistency with workouts and patience were also key. Muscle growth happens with progressive overload in training, so missing workouts or being inconsistent can significantly slow progress. I found that having a structured plan and celebrating small milestones kept me motivated. If you’re struggling with any of these points, it’s helpful to reflect honestly, adjust your habits, and be patient with the process. Fuel your body appropriately, stay consistent with workouts, and remember that results come from daily effort.
