Must visit in Los Angeles

Halloween is right around the corner, but if you love all things spooky and macabre, there is somewhere you can go year-round!

Beetle House Los Angeles is the ultimate dining experience for horror, Halloween and Tim Burton lovers. The themed restaurant immerses you in the twisted and haunted worlds of Tim Burton and Edgar Allen Poe, with candlelit corners and movie themed decor everywhere you look.

Dinner is $65 for a 3 course meal, all dishes themed of course. While you dine, you will enjoy ongoing performances and personal visits to your table from characters out of Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas characters, Corpse Bride and more. Reservations are recommended for dinner, but you can also stop in for a smoky drink at the bar.

This restaurant began as a pop-up but quickly became so popular it is now a permanent LA fixture.

There is also a location in New York City for all the east coasters!

I am a huge fan and definitely recommend for a fun and unique experience.

Would you dine here?

2025/10/15 Edited to

... Read moreI totally agree with the original post – Beetle House Los Angeles is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves the darker, whimsical side of things! My first time stepping into the restaurant, I was instantly transported. It's not just a restaurant; it's a full-on theatrical experience that truly brings Tim Burton's and Edgar Allan Poe's worlds to life. The decor alone is worth the trip. Every corner is meticulously crafted to immerse you. Picture candlelit tables casting flickering shadows, walls adorned with swirling, gothic patterns straight out of a Burton film, and eerie details everywhere. I remember spotting a massive, chained Oogie Boogie figure, lit in menacing red and blue, and later, a striking Jack Skellington sculpture overseeing the dining area. Even the bar area is a spectacle, with a neon sign proclaiming 'here lies BEETLEJUICE' above a stack of skulls, all bathed in an otherworldly glow. They really nail that spooky, yet playful, ambiance. It’s like being on a movie set! Now, let's talk about the food and drinks. The $65 three-course meal might sound like a splurge, but it's completely worth it for the themed experience. Each dish is creatively named and presented to fit the macabre theme – I had a burger that was surprisingly delicious and looked like it belonged in a Tim Burton scene. But the true magic happens with their cocktails! The 'smoky drinks' aren't just a gimmick; they're visually stunning and taste fantastic. Watching the bartenders craft these potions, complete with dry ice effects, adds another layer of enchantment to your evening. And the characters! This is where Beetle House truly shines. It’s not just static decor; performers dressed as iconic characters like Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, and others from Nightmare Before Christmas wander through the dining room. They interact with guests at your table, posing for photos and staying perfectly in character. It makes the whole experience incredibly personal and unforgettable. It's like a live dinner show, but they bring the show directly to you! A little tip if you're planning a visit: reservations for dinner are definitely recommended, especially on weekends or if you're going with a group. However, if you just want to soak in the atmosphere and grab one of those amazing smoky cocktails, the bar is usually more accessible. It’s a great option for a more casual spooky outing. The place is incredibly popular, and for good reason—it’s a permanent LA fixture now, and thankfully, East Coasters can enjoy a similar experience at their New York City location, which is just as wonderfully weird! Overall, Beetle House LA isn't just a place to eat; it's an adventure. It’s perfect for a unique date night, a fun outing with friends, or simply to indulge your inner goth. You'll leave feeling like you've stepped out of a Tim Burton movie. Don't miss it!
