Must visit in Porto, Portugal

Parque de Serralves was one of my favorite stops on our Porto, Portugal itinerary!

There is so much to see and do - visit the contemporary art museum and art deco villa, wander through the gardens, befriend farm animals, walk through the treetops and take goofy photos with the art installations.

The museum exhibitions rotate, so there’s always something new, and tickets are €24 for full access.

If you love slow travel, architecture, nature, and quiet beautiful places—this is absolutely worth adding to your Porto itinerary.

... Read moreWhen I visited Parque de Serralves, I was truly enchanted by how effortlessly it combines art, nature, and history. Spending 4 to 6 hours there felt just right to fully absorb everything—from wandering through the rose gardens and forest paths to exploring the contemporary art museum with its rotating exhibits. One of my favorite moments was visiting the traditional farm area, where I got to interact with sweet animals including an adorable little calf that became an unexpected highlight of my trip. Getting there is convenient with options like a quick 15-minute taxi or Uber ride from Porto's city center, or by taking the 203 or 502 bus lines which drop you right at the Serralves stop. Once inside, you can roam freely, enjoying sculptures and installations scattered throughout the park that give the feeling of stepping into a fairy tale. The Serralves Villa built in the 1930s adds a historical charm, offering a glimpse into the past as you explore its art deco architecture. For anyone who appreciates slow travel, architectural beauty, or simply a serene retreat surrounded by nature’s splendor mixed with cultural gems, this park is a must-visit. The €24 ticket grants full access to all areas including the museum, and it’s worth every cent given the variety and quality of experiences you’ll find. Whether you are a casual traveler or a devoted art enthusiast, Parque de Serralves tastes like a hidden gem that invites you to unwind and be inspired just minutes away from bustling Porto.
