Trading Entries

This is NOT mine, I did see this online and thought it was quality education. This is almost exactly how I am looking for entries.

... Read moreWhen entering trades, mastering the timing and method of your entry is critical for success, especially in fast-paced day trading environments. One effective approach involves understanding the Break of Structure (BOS) and Breakout Retest methods. A Break of Structure occurs when the price decisively breaches a previous high or low, signaling a potential shift in market momentum. For instance, when price breaks above a recent high with strong bullish momentum, it indicates increased buying pressure and a possible upward trend. However, jumping in immediately after the break can be risky, as the market might reverse or retrace. This is where the Breakout Retest entry comes into play. After the initial break, the price often pulls back to retest the broken level or a nearby demand zone. Waiting for this retest allows traders to confirm the validity of the breakout and identify lower-risk entry points. Entering the trade on bullish signals during the retest—like candlestick patterns indicating buying interest or volume spikes—helps improve the probability of a successful trade. It is important to manage risk by placing stop-loss orders below the retest low to protect against false breakouts. Targeting the next significant resistance or prior high can help set realistic profit goals. Combining these methods provides a structured and disciplined approach to trading entries, enhancing the trader’s ability to capitalize on market momentum while minimizing risk. Many traders integrate these concepts into their trading strategies, tailoring entries to their risk tolerance and market conditions. Continual practice, combined with sound money management, can lead to improved trade entries and overall trading performance.
