Finding me again

It's true that hair holds trauma... I allowed a person to control me to the point that I damaged my hair from trying to keep it long and blonde. I was consumed by a take fantasy, constantly fed lies and manipulated to the point that I completely lost myself.

I chopped 4 inches off of my hair several weeks ago which felt like freedom.. now I finally dyed it a color other than blonde which feels powerful..

I'm regaining my confidence. I'm finding my voice. I'm taking my power back and I will never let someone strip that away from me again.

When the time is right, I want to share my testimony.. from what l endured, to my healing journey, and how I have seen God throughout all of it... I pray that my testimony can help another person get out of their situation or help them heal. #youarenotalone #traumahealing #findingmyself #GlowUp #confident

... Read moreHealing from trauma often involves reclaiming control over one's life and identity. Many find that changing their appearance, such as cutting their hair or trying new colors, symbolizes a fresh start and personal empowerment. Hair can indeed hold emotional significance, reflecting our experiences and the changes we wish to embody. Reclaiming confidence after trauma is a gradual process that often requires support from others and inner trust. Sharing your story can foster connection and hope, as it reminds us we are not alone in our struggles. Communities that offer understanding, like those connected to hashtags such as #youarenotalone and #traumahealing, provide safe spaces for healing. It is important to recognize that healing is nonlinear, but every small step—like embracing a new look or expressing your voice—builds resilience. Spiritual beliefs or personal faith, as mentioned in the journey of seeing God through hardship, can also be a profound source of strength. If you or someone you know is on a similar path, remember that empowerment comes from within and through taking back personal choices. Allowing yourself freedom from past constraints and embracing who you are now is a vital part of recovery and growth. Keep nurturing yourself, and whenever ready, sharing your testimony can inspire others to find their own light and recovery.
