It’s that time of year where we reflect back on the past 365 days. Looking back on 2024, I feel a lot of pride in how I tackled this year.
2023 was a hard year of loss for me and I made the decision that 2024 would be a year of “forward”. It became my 2024 word of intention and I’ve tried to keep it top of mind regularly. We can take our grief and our struggles and still move forward. And that’s what I did!
I leaned into the @weightwatchers program to the fullest as if I was a new member. I tracked all the foods I ate. I utilized the weekly’s and Zero Point Foods. I stayed connected to community.
I stepped out of my box and had a huge NSV when I started running. Not only did I complete the 5K challenge I gave myself, I’ve continued running and am now training for a 10K!
I embraced the fact that sadness and joy can exist together as I made it to the one year anniversary of losing my mom and dad. I healed through moments of immense sadness and pain and moments of joy and sweet memories.
This year I found confidence in myself. I challenged myself mentally and physically. I gave myself grace. I proved myself wrong in the best ways. I allowed myself to feel joy, sadness, anger, frustration, and hope. I fully embraced this as a year of refocus on myself. It wasn’t perfect but it was consistent. I tried to treat myself as if I were my friend.
And I continued, and will continue, to move forward.
Let’s go 2025!

As we close the chapter on 2023 and step into 2024, many individuals reflect on their personal journeys of growth and resilience. For those navigating the challenges of grief or seeking weight loss support, programs like Weight Watchers provide community and structured guidance. The weight loss journey can often lead to significant non-scale victories (NSVs), such as improved mental well-being and enhanced physical fitness. Embracing a holistic approach that balances emotions is key. Acknowledging both sadness and joy can aid in healing and self-discovery. Engaging in activities like running not only boosts physical health but also fosters a sense of accomplishment and community. Remember, it’s essential to treat oneself with kindness and support, just as one would for a friend. As we look ahead, setting intentions and focusing on personal goals can lead to positive changes and new beginnings. Let’s together step into 2025 with hope and determination!
