They personally called me & said he’s “Satan”

3/27 Edited to

... Read moreIt's wild how easily labels get thrown around, isn't it? After my own jarring experience of being called 'Satan,' it truly got me thinking about what that loaded word even means to different people and why it carries so much weight. I realized that many, like me, might find themselves searching to understand the broader context of 'satanism' when faced with such intense accusations or misunderstandings. When most people hear 'satanism,' they often picture Hollywood horror films – dark rituals, evil, sacrificing animals, and general malevolence. This is the image we've been fed for generations, fueled by folklore and sensationalized media. But my journey of trying to understand why someone would use such a powerful term against me led me down a rabbit hole of discovery about what 'satanism' actually entails beyond the terrifying stereotypes. I quickly learned that the reality is far more nuanced and, frankly, less dramatic than the myths. The truth is, there isn't just one form of 'satanism.' For example, LaVeyan Satanism, founded by Anton LaVey, is largely atheistic. It doesn't involve the worship of a literal devil but rather focuses on individualism, self-indulgence, rational self-interest, and personal freedom. It's more of a philosophical stance that challenges conventional religious dogmas. Then there are other, less common forms, like Theistic Satanism, where adherents do believe in and worship Satan as a deity. However, even these groups rarely engage in the 'evil' or harmful acts that popular culture assigns to them. Most surprising for me was realizing that neither typically involves the violence or depravity people assume; instead, they often emphasize personal responsibility and a questioning of authority. Being labeled 'Satan' isn't just a word; it's a heavy judgment that can isolate you, make people fear you, and completely misunderstand your character. It made me realize how powerful and damaging these labels can be, especially when they're rooted in ignorance rather than fact. The fear and social ostracization that can come with such an accusation are very real, impacting relationships, reputation, and even mental well-being. I’ve come to believe that sometimes, people use terms like 'Satan' or 'satanic' not because they genuinely believe you're part of a specific group, but because it's the strongest, most shocking way they know to express dislike, fear, or a complete rejection of you or your actions. It's a way to 'other' someone, to paint them as entirely outside the bounds of acceptable society, without needing to engage with the actual complexities of who that person is or what they truly believe. It's often a weapon of condemnation rather than an accurate description. My experience taught me to look beyond the sensational headlines and the knee-jerk reactions. Before we label someone or something as 'satanic,' or any other charged term, maybe we should pause and really ask ourselves: what are we truly saying? What does that word actually mean, both to us and to the person we’re labeling? Seeking understanding over quick judgments is a lesson I’ll carry with me always.

Some Men Handle Rejection Like Children…

A screenshot of an Instagram direct message conversation. The husband of a woman who was bullied online messages the commenter, asking for the reason behind their rude remarks and how to make the situation positive.
The rude commenter explains their behavior, stating the 'mini skirt' was the reason. They admit to escalating their comments because the woman ignored previous negative feedback, and apologize if feelings were hurt.
The commenter continues to justify their rudeness, claiming the woman lacks self-awareness. They compare her to their own girlfriend, who they say doesn't 'show off' in a similar manner because it's 'not appropriate.'
