Things I’ve learned from getting older

Things I’ve learned getting older:

1. Stay in prayer to keep the demons at bay. I found that when I went through a time of not praying or worshipping that I had more frequent bad luck.

2. Cooking at home is cheaper and tastier. Not only does it cost less, it makes your skills for homesteading grow. I’ve learned to make many different things by cooking more at home. Nothing wrong with going out but it’s gotten so expensive.

3. Family comes first. A job can be replaced, family can’t. I refuse to sacrifice all of my time with my children.

4. Learning to stay quiet as you age gets a bit easier. I don’t have the time or energy for arguments. Half the time the other person will always think they’re right no matter what. Saying this I also won’t justify myself to anyone unless plainly asked to do so. I’ve done that my whole life and it’s one habit I’ve tried to change. #girlgrowth #lemon8challenge

Staying consistent in prayer and spiritual practices is highlighted as a powerful way to maintain inner peace and ward off negativity. This spiritual discipline can cultivate resilience, a sense of calm, and improved mental well-being, which are crucial as we face life's inevitable ups and downs. Home cooking not only helps save money but also fosters practical skills and creativity in the kitchen. In a time when dining out is often costly, preparing meals at home promotes healthier eating habits and provides a satisfying sense of accomplishment. This approach supports self-sufficiency and encourages exploring diverse recipes, enriching family meals and traditions. Prioritizing family over work underscores the irreplaceable value of close relationships. As careers change and evolve, family connections provide enduring support and fulfillment. Setting healthy boundaries to protect family time contributes to stronger bonds and lasting memories. Learning to remain silent during conflicts is a sign of emotional maturity. Recognizing that not every disagreement requires engagement helps conserve energy and reduces stress. This practice promotes peace and preserves dignity by avoiding unnecessary arguments, while acknowledging when clarifications are necessary. Integrating these lessons with passages from Psalms and biblical teachings, such as those from Psalm 23 and messages about righteousness and guidance, reinforces the spiritual framework that sustains many through life's journey. The combination of faith, practical lifestyle choices, and emotional intelligence provides a holistic approach to aging gracefully and meaningfully.

the most important thing i’ve learned abt habits:
everything changed when I started seeing my habits as part of who I am. once it's tied to who you are, you don't need constant motivation - skipping it feels off. understanding that your habits are directly correlated to your sense of self, like: “I want to work out” vs “I’m the kind
