Monthly POPS to add to your creative journal
Antiquity was the voted theme for February’s Ephemera Club 🏛️ (All pieces are handmade, secondhand, or real antique and vintage pieces) I wanted to offer a way for people to use more sustainable and unique materials in their journaling than just buying rolls and rolls of PET tape, so I have been creating monthly happy snail mail for my patrons for over a year 🤎 I thrift and create themes, when you don’t have the time!

Journaling is a wonderful way to express creativity and document personal experiences. For those looking to enhance their journaling, using unique materials can significantly enrich the process. In February, the Ephemera Club embraced an Antiquity theme, promoting the use of vintage and historical items, which not only adds character but also sustainability to journaling practices. Incorporating antique papers, such as 120-year-old piano sheets or handmade damask, introduces a tactile quality that modern supplies often lack. For instance, using armor fabric scraps can provide a distinctive texture, while tattered fabric scraps give your journal an authentic, worn feel. Stickers and documents, like antique French document stickers, can serve as focal points or embellishments, making each journaling page a piece of art. Using these materials allows crafters to tell a story through their work and connect with history in a creative way. Many enthusiasts are leaning towards sourcing supplies sustainably, opting for thrifted or handmade options that can inspire new projects while reducing environmental impact. Incorporating elements from the past not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes a narrative that resonates with individual experiences. As you embark on your journaling journey, consider embracing these creative ideas and materials to set your journal apart from the rest.
