My Kobo Clara Colour

Hey everyone, it’s been a really long time since i touched bases with lemon8 but i’ve been back, seeing all the book reccs and whatnot so i’ve decided to post about my new gem!

Honestly, considering how i only finished one book (looking for alaska) the last decade, this ereader was a risk for me as an investment. The fear that it’ll be shelved the way i shelf and occasionally unshelf my switch is very present, and still here.

Still, my bf got it for me as an advanced birthday gift and boy do i love it! As of now, almost 2 weeks since my possession of the KCC, i have finished 4 books, which is a crazy count compared to 1 for the past decade, although mathematically this means that i haven’t gotten the money’s worth it, i know at least i can read and commit myself to reading when i want to.

I think the one feature (never owned any other ebooks so i’m not sure about them) that really boosted reading for me is the customisability of the fonts, sizes, and margins! I realised after owning a kobo that I am a little more sensitive to fonts, margins and all these than i should be. Little bit of oversharing here but this has lead me to be super picky about my assessment books as a kid, there are books i refuse to do and never knew why until recently. So i enjoy that i can set these things to my own likings as i see comfortable!

Next is the overdrive integration! I’ve borrowed from libby before (but didn’t finish the books oops) so when i asked my cousin (a kindle owner), she recommended the kobo for this exact function! Most of my books are currently borrowed from nlb, which is super convenient and had a huge range throughout.

For anyone who is now realising that your repulsion to/pickiness for books is more sensory in nature, I definitely recommend getting your hands on one!

P/s if there’s any book sharing/parallel reading gc i can join pls hmu 🥺

... Read moreWhen I first started using the Kobo Clara Colour, I was surprised by how much the e-reader's features really supported my reading preferences. The ability to adjust font type, size, and margins isn’t just cosmetic—it made a real difference in my comfort and eye strain, which I hadn’t fully appreciated before. I realized that my past avoidance of certain books might have been tied to sensory discomfort, not just lack of interest. This feature alone encouraged me to keep reading longer sessions without fatigue. Another huge plus has been the OverDrive integration, which allows me to borrow library books directly on the device. I frequent my local NLB and appreciate the broad selection of e-books accessible without any hassle. This made trying new titles and authors risk-free since there’s no upfront cost. Previously, I’d tried Libby but struggled to finish borrowed reads; Kobo’s user-friendly interface combined with physical comfort made me more focused and engaged. Moreover, the clarity of the color e-ink screen adds a subtle visual warmth compared to monochrome screens, making it easier to distinguish highlights or annotations, which is perfect for study or leisure. For anyone sensitive or picky about book layouts and print, or who wants seamless borrowing from libraries, I highly recommend giving Kobo Clara Colour a chance. It made reading accessible and enjoyable for me in a way I didn’t expect, turning reading from a chore into a hobby. If you’re like me and have struggled with committing to books before, this device might be the gentle push you need.

Introducing to you, my Kobo Clara Colour! 😋 Some background, I bought a second hand defected e-reader off Carousell. It has a line near the bottom of the screen which according to the previous owner “appeared out of nowhere”. Got it for $130! Had this since 5 Dec 2025 (today is 26 Apr 2026) and

My Kobo lowkey changed my life
Not to be dramatic but… my Kobo lowkey changed my life. I never grew up a reader. In fact, ashamed to say, the most I read for leisure was a book a year. However, late 2024, I started reading short novels on my phone and for Christmas, my fiancé (now husband), decided to get me a Kobo as he said

Kobo Clara B&W
I bought the Kobo Clara B&W in June 2025. Since I have been using it for 6 months now, I thought it’s time to give my thoughts on it. First of all, this is my first e-reader and I do not own a kindle or any other e-readers before Kobo, other than my mobile or iPad. Why Kobo? 1. Allows

Application: Fable Since I was in a reading slump, I had initially set a goal of 12 books in 2026 (i.e 1 book a month). But to my surprise, I’ve finished 15! and it’s only April 🤣 I think there’s just something about visually seeing the books I’ve read and trying to keep my reading streak. I’
